Today, hospitals face increasing pressure to improve efficiency, especially in the German setting where you will find a competitive environment paired with heavy regulation.
Our projects with hospitals target clinical improvement as a major driver for economic success.
An example of our work in the hospital would be the analysis of hospital infections. We use the existing data set collected by physicians in their daily routine (§21 data set*) which is easily accessible through the hospital information system. We analyse this data with our IMR tool (“Infektionsmanagement mit Routinedaten”). As specialists in the field of antibiotic stewardship, we train ABS (antibiotic stewardship)-experts within hospitals as well.
Another example of our work is the development of new business cases with hospitals exploring the economic benefits of establishing new medical treatment options e.g. bariatric surgery, geriatric units or the optimization of malnutrition therapy.
The goal: Good medicine earns good money.
